Aruba Airheads Conference – Las Vegas

March 16, 2012 By Stephen Leave a Comment

Las Vegas is always full of surprises, and I'll be there next week!

Next week, I will be attending the Aruba Airheads Conference in Las Vegas. My previous experiences organizing Wireless Field Day opened my eyes to the exciting world of Wi-Fi, so I jumped at the chance to help Aruba organize blogger participation at their conference. This is one of the services my company, Foskett Services, offers!

Aruba Airheads Conference, Las Vegas

Joining me in Las Vegas are five excellent bloggers (that I know of so far):

  • Sam Clements, sc-wifi.com, @samuel_clements
  • Daniel Cybulskie, simplywifi.co, @simplywifi
  • Jennifer Huber, jenniferhuber.blogspot.com, @JenniferLucille
  • Chris Lyttle, wifikiwi.com, @WiFiKiwi
  • Sean Rynearson, wifigeeks.com, @SRynearson

We have many exciting events scheduled at the conference, including technical sessions on Wi-Fi technology, recording a special “Tech Field Day Roundtable” video discussion, and of course fun social activities in the evening. I can’t wait to get there!

Here’s the order of the event, for me at least:

  • Wednesday:
    • Preparation – setting up the blogger lounge, etc
    • Dinner with the bloggers and Aruba folks
  • Thursday:
    • Morning keynotes
    • Tech Field Day Roundtable preparation and recording
    • Airheads party at Encore
  • Friday: Heading back home!

Go To Airheads Nice, France

What’s better than an awesome technical conference on Wi-Fi? How about one in Nice, France?! I’m thrilled to announce that Aruba is holding just such a contest, and it starts now.

Just head over to the Airheads Social forum and post a short essay or video on why you should be the winner. Don’t worry that your “case” won’t be convincing enough: Everyone has a chance to win, and you never know what will appeal to the judges. Maybe you have some special technical interest, maybe you apply the knowledge you gain in a significant way, or maybe you’re just a really great person!

I wrote up some ideas over at Airheads Social based on my experiences with similar contests in the past. The best way to appeal to the judges is to show how you will “pay it forward” and share with the rest of the world. Who could deny the appeal of a selfless giver, after all?

Stephen’s Stance

It’s so much fun to work on events like this, and I look forward to the excitement in Las Vegas. Let me know if you’ll be there, too, and we can meet up! And if you’re a company who would like to add blogger activities and pro video to your event, drop me a line!
