Tortoise or Hare? Nvidia Jetson TK1

September 22, 2020 By Stephen Leave a Comment

I'm quite pleased with the Intel NUC boards that came with my surplus Rabbit cloud, but I can't say the same about the Nvidia Jetson TK1 boards. They're weird, flaky, limited, and haven't proved useful even in simple applications. Frankly, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the 15 Jetsons sitting in my office! Meet George Jetson The Jetson was one of the first … [Read more...] about Tortoise or Hare? Nvidia Jetson TK1

Both … [Read more...] about USB Ethernet Not Working in macOS 10.12 Sierra?

That's why I'm thrilled about the Cable Matters Ultra-Mini 4-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Hub!   My 2012 Retina MacBook Pro is a real video production workhorse. The … [Read more...] about Review: Cable Matters Ultra-Mini 4-Port SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Hub

Cable Matters USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter: Hands-On Review

August 14, 2013 By Stephen 13 Comments

Dreaming of a single-cable docking station for my MacBook Pro, but not wanting to beta test the Belkin Thunderbolt dock, I decided to build my own using USB 3.0. This meant buying a sizable powered USB 3.0 hub (I chose the well-regarded Satechi "10 port" model) as well as a USB 3.0 Ethernet adapter. I already had a number of fantastic external drives, my Unicomp keyboard, and a … [Read more...] about Cable Matters USB 3.0 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter: Hands-On Review
