This week I’m headed to Austin for two events: Tech Field Day 10, which I run, and a really special conference, TECHunplugged. I spoke at TECHunplugged London back in April and loved the experience. Now it’s coming to the USA for the first time, and the agenda is packed with great content. I highly recommend attending these events!

802.11ac Wi-Fi Hotness from Wireless Field Day 3
Although “7 Gigabit performance” makes for great headlines, the real advance of 802.11ac will be better throughput for more clients. As we move to 5 GHz, 802.11ac will support more simultaneous client connections with MIMO stability. Although performance will improve to 400+ Mbps, users will likely never see multi-gigabit throughput.
Networking Field Day 3 – Silicon Valley
Next week is the third networking-focused Tech Field Day event, and the 14th overall event I’ve produced. It’s amazing to see the growth and interest in Tech Field Day generally, and our networking events specifically.
Wireless Field Day 2 – Silicon Valley
A year ago, Gestalt IT hosted our very first Wireless Field Day, and the event was a smashing success. This year, we are pleased to have a number of new delegates and sponsors and have added an additional event, the Wi-Fi Mobility Symposium.
Back From the Pile: Interesting Links, February 11, 2011
I’ve spent this week in San Jose, CA at Tech Field Day 5, and that’s the bulk of my news. We heard from great companies: Symantec, Drobo, Druva, Xangati, NetEx, InfoBlox, and HP. Whew!
