The PNY StorEDGE is a Must-Have MacBook Accessory

May 9, 2014 By Stephen 3 Comments

Although I appreciate Apple's decision to go all-SSD on the MacBook line, it does cause some problems capacity-wise. Even 256 GB is an expensive proposition from Apple, and it's not easy or cheap to expand storage on these laptops. Sony is not a company that is known for interoperability and compliance with standards. Quite the opposite, in fact, if one considers technologies like Memory Stick, Blu-Ray, and most every other development they have made in consumer electronics. But what about the NEX mirrorless cameras? How do they compare to similar offerings from other vendors? You might also like reading … [Read more...] about Is the Sony NEX Camera System Excessively Proprietary?

Is The iPad Compatible With SDXC and ExFAT Cards?

December 6, 2010 By Stephen 7 Comments

After Apple added SDXC and ExFAT compatibility to Mac OS X in 10.6.5, I got to wondering if they had added similar compatibility to the iPad in iOS 4.2.1. Although the hardware reader is probably not SDXC-capable, it wouldn't have been too hard to add the ExFAT driver from Mac OS X to iOS. Then, the iPad could import from SD cards formatted as ExFAT and USB-connected … [Read more...] about Is The iPad Compatible With SDXC and ExFAT Cards?
