I have an HPE ML110 Gen10 server. It’s an excellent piece of hardware but does not “like” the LSI SAS card I want to use for FreeNAS. Every time it boots, I get a “red screen of death” because the LSI card is trying to load its ROM. Luckily I stumbled on a fix, and thought I would share it here.

What Datacenter Equipment Is Apple Using?
During the WWDC “Stevenote” we got a rare glimpse into the mysterious Apple North Carolina data center. Two shots have been seen online so far: One showing swoopy Teradata racks and another open, exposing HP rack servers and what looks like a NetApp array. Since Apple spent billions building out this datacenter, and has kept their product choices very quiet, it’s amusing to try to suss out what they are using from their own promo video.
The Truth About HP’s Tech Day
HP and Ivy did a darn fine job of putting together a set of sessions to tell us what they have. They presented folks who really knew their stuff, warts and all. They invited a variety of independent voices and let us ask and say anything we wanted with no expectations, let alone an NDA. This was a stellar event, and every other IT company should be asking why they didn’t do it first.
